| GOIANIA, Brazil – A security camera video surfaced this week showing a 22-year-old junk car dealer being chased down and killed with 12 shots. Homicide detectives say they will request a copy of the video to aid in their investigation.
The incident occurred on Wednesday night in the Alto da Gloria neighborhood of the capital, Goiania, and was recorded by the security camera of a building in the area where the slaying happened.
“These images will help us a lot in order to identify the perpetrator and also locate the car used by the assailants,” the detective told Globo TV.
According to the detective, the victim’s business activity will also be investigated to ascertain whether the murder is somehow related. “These are a lot of disagreements in that business. There are people who buy or sell wrecked cars in order to steal another car and transplant the license and registration,” said the detective.
Also according to police, the victim had a police record. He had been arrested three times: for possession of a firearm, drug trafficking and drug possession.
